The Philadelphia Chocolate Tours mission of Uplift Through Chocolate means that we want to uplift:
- our chocolate-loving customers
- our participating stores and chocolatiers
- our team of Choc Stars
- our charitable partners and communities.
Our Founder and Team are active in serving through civic and charitable organizations, and here are the main ways we provide Uplift Through Chocolate to our charitable partners and communities:
1. Charity of Choice
Our Charity of Choice is CARE, one of the largest humanitarian organizations in the world. CARE helps women in impoverished countries exit poverty through entrepreneurship, and provides a host of community programs and social justice initiatives in the 60+ countries where it operates, including in cocoa-growing countries such as Ecuador and Ghana. We make financial contributions to CARE, and also mention their work on every tour that we give, thereby giving CARE greater exposure. So, chocolate fights world poverty!
2. Local Charity Partners
Our Local Charity Partners are Philabundance, the region's largest hunger relief organization, which has worked to end hunger and malnutrition in the Delaware Valley since 1984 by acquiring and distributing food, and Back on My Feet, an innovative program that promotes the self-sufficiency of homeless populations by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength, and self-esteem.
We've sponsored the Philabundance "Cupcake Smash" tasting festival every year since it started 3 years ago. Join us!
3. Gift Certificate Donations
In addition, we sometimes donate gift certificates to charitable and civic organizations, for their silent auctions or raffle prizes. Contact us at info@philadelphiachocolatetours.com with your information or request. Email only, please (save a tree!).
4. Fundraising Tours
We also hold fundraising tours for non-profit organizations, whereby a portion of tour proceeds goes to your organization. For example, we can arrange a private Philadelphia Chocolate Tour for supporters of your organization, and we'll donate $10 of the $50 per person private tour ticket fee back to you.
